Land’s End drive,  Plenty of wildflowers and breathtaking scenery. Carpooling recommended, and if you don’t want to drive, contact me to hitch a ride. We will meet those who want to drive at the gate to Land’s End. Those who want to carpool can meet at the City Market on Orchard Mesa at 1 pm. Please email, call or text me if you have any questions. To get to the gate, Take Highway 50 South toward Delta, and Turn Left on Kannah Creek Road. You will come to a fork in the road, continue on Land’s End, until you reach the gate. For those who haven’t taken this drive, the road is gravel,  switchbacks, without guardrails. If you do fear heights, I recommend you ride with someone. We will be stopping in the road for wild flower patches, there are some waterfalls, and small turnouts safe to stop. At the top there are chipmunks that will eat out of your hand as well as a plethora of wildflowers. As most of you know the wildflowers are dependent on how warm we get & how much rain we get. There is no guarantee for awesome conditions, but rainy days make for great lighting, as well as potential rainbows.  I have included some images, these were taken on July 31, 2o11. We may be early or late depending on the rain/drought.
