naked dog – deadline extension

Really, I have to scavenge to get fed,  John ??

OK, we are surrounded by Chaos, because of this it just makes sense to extend the Scavenger Hunt deadline until Tuesday Sept 15th.  From 6:00 till about 7:00 PM on that day I will be sitting at Main Street Bagel in GJ at 6th & Main. I will be under one of their colorful umbrellas, just waiting for you to bring your great pictures. Please remember you only need to submit pictures for your favorite categories,

thanks for your participation,            John Truzinski .

Scavenger Hunt Plans

TMCC Members,

You were given the Scavenger Hunt List last fall.  Boy, has everything changed since then, no parties, no eating out, no meetings, and barely any peaches. Let me calm your fears, “Yes”the Scavenger Hunt is still on. I know you have been sneaking out to take pictures in town and out in the country, day & night.

It’s time to put all your great shots together and print your images on either 4×6 or 5×7 inch photo paper. Please have your name and category entered on the back of each of your entries.

At our regularly scheduled meeting time, August 25th, Bob Peterson and myself, John Truzinski, will be hanging around outside of Building B, east entrance, at Western Colorado Community College, to accept your amazing photographs.  Arrive any time between 7:00 and 8:00 PM on Tuesday August 25th.  We will be lazily sitting in the grass near the entrance door we would normally use to enter the building for our TMCC meeting collecting photo entries.  All social distancing guidelines will be followed while collecting your super entries. You can stop and say hello or just holler at us and hand them out your window!

We are envisioning the voting to take place a month later, at the same place and time (Sept 22ndbetween 7:00 and 8:00) at which time you can vote for your favorites in each category.  I say “envision” because things may change again before then.

Thanking you ahead of time for your participation,

John Truzinski.

Milky Way outing

Derrick Snider will lead an outing to balanced rock in Glade Park to shoot the milky way Friday Aug 14.  meet at balanced rock parking lot at 830 pm.  A moderate hike to the balanced rock.  Bring headlamp and tripod.

see Facebook for more information and if plans change.

July meeting cancelled

Sorry to say there was not enough interest in having any kind of meeting this month from the responses of members.   Hang in there and be safe out.   the next competition would be the Scavenger Hunt so get those prints printed and we will figure out how to submit and how to conduct the voting.

July stuff

The Board is trying to decide about the July meeting.  Please email tmcccontests@gmail.com before saturday if you would attend a meeting at our usual location on July 28.  Then we can get a head count to see if having an in-persoon meeting is feasible, with a max 20 allowed with masks.  Also let us know if you would attend if a meeting was virtual using zoom or similar platform.

Weekly Challenge – the Neowise comet is viewable this week at least.  Go out and shoot it with a friend or two and post the best effort on theTMCC Facebook group page.

The Milky way is high in the sky in July so why be shy and lie in bed and not try to eye it through the cameri.  Small group outing is needed.

The Scavenger Hunt submittal of photos is coming up in August.  Get out, shoot those winning photographs, get-r-done.  Print your photos, 4×6, labelled and ready to enter.  Details on how we might do this will be forth coming.  Beer in a park might be involved towards the end of August.

June meeting cancelled, competition deadline approaches

While a small gathering of less than 20 members could have been held, the Board decided to hold off respecting the health of our members and honoring the current policies.  The June meeting is cancelled.  Please let a board member know if you are interested in attending a virtual board meeting to plan a few things in the coming months.

July 1 midnight is the deadline for the TMCC competition with theme: Photo using people for context.

Competition Deadline Extended

The deadline fo submitting one of your amazing photos to the current TMCC club competition (theme: OPEN) is extended until May 10 midnight.

Also, Ed K. is providing discussions on the PSA entries and judging and editing.  thank you Ed for your time and voice.  It is very interesting.  Please click on the “Join the Discussion” tab on the TMCC website.  If you login, you can make a comment and add to the discussion.  Contact Bob if you need a new login password.
