Frequently Asked Questions

A non-profit organization formed in 1981, TMCC is dedicated to increasing the enjoyment of photography by its members by giving them a forum for learning and sharing.

Membership:

TMCC is open to any person with an interest in photography.  The are membership dues for an individual, for a family and for a student.  These are used for non-profit status, meeting room charges, banquet and awards and misc. administrative costs.  Check the membership form for current rates.  Dues are pro-rated on a quarterly basis for the first calendar year of membership.

Meetings:

Held monthly (except for December) on the 4th Tuesday of the month at the Western Colorado Community College, 2520 Blichmann Avenue, Building B, Room 171, Grand Junction, CO. Meeting time is 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

Instructional Classes and outings:

Learning more about our craft is one of the reasons TMCC exists. The club provides a mixture of instructional topics at the regular meetings and classes held on other days. Subject material is selected by the membership and some members may share their expertise.   Classes are a mixture of classroom and in the field activities.  The club will organize outings to provide the opportunity to share and socialize.  The outings may be just a couple of hours nearby Grand Junction or over night to the Sand Wash Basin or Moab or whereever the club members would like to venture

Competitions:

Club competitions are friendly contests open to all club members.  Usually 4 to 6 competitions per year and may include digital images (projected), prints, maybe using different processing or cameras such as cell phones.   See the TMCC website for the schedule.

Annual Banquet and Awards:

Held in January, all the projected images and prints that have placed in our local competitions are eligible for a final judging. Awards are given for our Photographer of the Year and other achievements. It’s TMCC’s way of ending one year and starting the next!

Photographic Society of America

The club is an active member club of the Photographic Society of America (PSA). This membership allows TMCC members access to the various materials that PSA produces. Club members can also attend the annual PSA conference and enter the national PSA sponsored competitions. The club participates in four PSA competitions each year.
