Minutes for May club meeting

TMCC Meeting Minutes – May 28, 2024 

  • WELCOME  
    • Cheryl opened the meeting at 7 pm at the Gem and Mineral Club building at 2328 Monument Road.  Introductions were made around the room. 
    • 10 folks were present including one guest (Anica).  One new member paid dues for half year.  The club now has 16 members.
  • STEERING WHEEL 
    • Meeting was May 17.  Meetings and outings were planned for the remainder of 2024.  There will be no meetings in June, July or August.  Outings will prevail and leaders will be identified with email address for contact.   The club will participate in “Art in the Park” June 15, 10-12 at Lincoln Park.  A table will be set up and club information available to attendees.   The banner was given to Hank.
    • The next meeting is August 16 at 6 pm at Rebekah’s.
  • BUSINESS
    • Bob P. – Minutes from the Steering committee and last month’s club meeting were posted on the website.  Minutes were voted approved by hand signals.
    • The planned events were added to the website through September 2024.
    • Bob P. – Treasury – $450 remaining.  Gem and Mineral club building is reserved for September, October, and November.  located at 2328 Monument Rd.  
    • Scott is owed $30 for using ink and paper on the brochures.
    • Member photos remain on display at City Hall and at the main branch Library.  Photos of these events were posted on the website and Facebook
  • EVENTS – There was discussion of Events.  
    • JUNE 22 OUTING 6-9 pm meet at the GJ Depot – RAILROADS WITH REBEKAH B. – using HDR for night time photography
    • JULY 13 OUTING – Skyway trailhead – Leader Bob P.
    • LATE JULY OR EARLY AUGUST OUTING – HUMMINGBIRDS – Leader Bob C.
    • LATE AUGUST OUTING – NIGHT SKY / MILKY WAY – leaders: Hank / Mike
    • SCAVENGER HUNT 2024 – 10 categories, bring a 5×7 print to the September meeting for presentation and voting in October.  See website notification for more information.
  • MONTHLY CHALLENGE – The monthly challenge photos were presented/discussed.  “STILL LIFE at Home”.
  • BREAK FOR SNACKS
  • PRESENTATION 
    • Paul Huntington presentation on photo editing, discussing the variety of software he is familiar with and recommends.  Paul discussed his typical process for post processing including Photo director, Topaz, giga pixel, faststone, luminare, silver efex, lightroom, photoshop to name a few..  Paul discussed editing of any member photos that were provided.  

Meeting was over at 9:00 pm.  The next activity is an outing on June 22 meeting at the Depot at 6 pm.
